  • Net Nanny can block most chat programs, including instant messengers and IRC chat. Only IRC chat can be recorded
  • Windows XP fast user switching must be disabled to use Net Nanny
  • Net Nanny blocks specific games, peer-to-peer applications, instant messaging and chat applications – these applications are not filtered or monitored by Net Nanny
  • The America Online (AOL) proprietary browser is not filtered or monitored by Net Nanny, as AOL has its own parental controls
