The fastest, easiest way to create your own cross-stitch patterns!

Everything you need in a Cross-Stitch Program.  PCStitch offers a rich feature set.  Use different stitch types, including backstitches.  The text features are unmatched by any other program, and libraries to help you catalog your favorite pieces.  All this, and it is still the most easy-to-use program on the market!

Create an Heirloom!  You provide the photo and PCStitch does the rest.  The import feature automatically maps the colors in the image to the closest floss colors.  It’s as easy as that!  In minutes, you will be stitching a picture of your kids, your house, or the family pet!

With PCStitch you can create your own one-of-a-kind design!PCStitch Design Grid   Turn your cherished photograph into a cross-stitch pattern!  Now you can stitch something that no one has ever done before! There's no need to search through magazines or stand in craft stores looking for something unique.  Whether you're a beginner or an experienced cross-stitcher, PCStitch is perfect for you!

PCStitch makes creating special, one-of-a-kind cross-stitch projects from your photos or other graphic images as simple as A - B - C. You import it, you print it, and you stitch it!

Import Wizard
Takes you, step-by-step, through converting any graphic into a pattern.  You supply the image, and the Import Wizard does the rest.  Start by answering simple questions such as how large you want your pattern to be, and how many colors you want in the design.  PCStitch automatically maps the colors in the image to the closest floss colors and creates the pattern for you!

Where does the image come from?    To cross-stitch a photograph, you need to get the picture into your computer.  The most common way to do this is with a scanner, but you could also have your photos developed on a CD-ROM.  PCStitch can interface directly to your scanner or digital camera, or you can provide your image from a graphic file.  PCStitch can work with most common graphic file formats including BMP, JPG, and TIF.

Does it have to be a photograph?    PCStitch will work with any picture or clipart image.  Patterns can be created with clipart.  You will be amazed at the custom patterns you can create by combining your favorite clipart with the text features in PCStitch.

Use your imagination!    Once you start, you will be amazed at the number of projects that you can produce.  Each can be as customized, or as personal as you want.

If you can picture it, you can stitch it!

  • Borders:  PCStitch 7 allows you to create and use borders for your patterns. The borders can even be applied to patterns that you have already created!
  • Redesigned Floss Palette Interface:  We have made the Floss Palette window much easier to understand and work with. Each palette tool, such as Remove or Blend, has its own easy to use window. You can even preview each tool's changes before applying them to your pattern!
  • Beads: Embellish your patterns with beads! We have added this special stitch type and available color lists from the popular Mill Hill Beads collections.
  • Import/Underlay Function:  Now you can "underlay" any picture or graphic file on the design grid in order to trace or draw the stitches on yourself. This is perfect for those times when you want to convert something that you have drawn on paper, or when you want to convert a printed pattern into PCStitch format.
  • Design Grid Shortcut Clicks:  To make your designing easier, you can decide what you want to happen when you click on the design grid. Using the Ctrl, Shift, and Alt keys, you can perform many common functions without going to a menu or changing your drawing mode.
  • New Pattern Library Interface: Finding the library pattern you want has gotten much easier. You can see thumb nails of the available libraries and patterns, and you can even decide how big the thumb nails are and how many to display per page. You can also search for specific patterns by words in the title and by size. Click Here to see more.
  • Additional Floss Lists: We have added color lists from many different manufacturers! You can design using flosses from DMC, Coates, Anchor, Madeira, and Kreinik. You can even convert patterns from using one floss brand to another.
  • New Custom Stitch Interface:  Designing custom stitches can is now done using the same design grid that is used for designing everything else. You can even create a custom stitch with a right click menu option from an edit box while designing other patterns.
  • More Right Click Menus : Many of the most common and useful functions in PCStitch are available from right mouse click menus. Now, most design grid, edit box, and palette functions can be accomplished without ever leaving the main design area.
  • Enhanced Design Grid Rulers:  The new rulers on the design grid can display inches, centimeters, or stitches from a right click menu selection. You can also turn them off completely or change the display style.

Graphic File Import
PCStitch can take almost any graphic image and convert it into a cross-stitch pattern. You determine the size and number of colors, and let PCStitch do the rest! The colors are automatically mapped to the floss. Convert something as simple as a piece of clipart, or something as complex as a photograph!

One of the most powerful features of PCStitch is the ability to convert a graphic image into a pattern. You provide the image and PCStitch will do the rest! Our software will automatically size the output image to your requirements and then automatically map the colors in the image to the floss colors available. You can determine how large the pattern is, how many colors to use, and even what type of floss to use!

  • Selecting the image: The image can come from an existing graphic file, such as a TIF or BMP. You can also acquire the image from your scanner or digital camera.
  • Cropping and Erasing: The next few steps of the import wizard allow you, if you wish, to select just a portion of the image for your pattern. You can also select an area of the image to erase which will keep if from being converted into stitches.
  • Pick your project size: How big do you want your final pattern to be? The import wizard lets you choose by stitches, or by measurements. PCStitch will automatically re-size the image to make the pattern size you desire.
  • Select the type of floss to use: Finally, choose what type of floss you want to use, and how many different colors you want in your pattern. PCStitch automatically maps the colors in the image to the floss and shows you a preview of your pattern.

Pattern Libraries

This feature allows you to collect pieces of cross-stitch into categories, and insert them into future designs. You can create your own pattern libraries, or purchase huge collections with Pattern Pieces! The Text features in PCStitch are awesome! You can enter letters, words, or phrases to your own creations as easily as typing on your keyboard.

Text
The text features are unmatched by any other program. Use TrueType fonts, or design your own stitched alphabets. Lines of text can be centered, left, or right justified.

  • Method 1:  TrueType fonts:  Any TrueType font installed on your computer can be used to add words and phrases to your designs. TrueType fonts are the same fonts you use in applications such as Microsoft Word. Simply select the font you want to use, and the height of each letter. Select the area where you want to insert your letters and start typing. PCStitch converts your keystrokes into stitched letters. It is that easy! Any TrueType font installed on your computer can be used in PCStitch.
  • Method 2:  Stitched Fonts:  Stitched Fonts are alphabets that are created specifically for cross-stitch. Each letter in a stitched font is designed using any of the available stitch types. You can even use different colored floss or beads. These alphabets can be simply backstitch letters, or extravagant letters using all the features of PCStitch. Using Stitched Fonts in future patterns is as simple as picking your starting position, then keying letters on your keyboard.
  • Stitched Fonts are Designed:  You can create any type of stitched font using PCStitch. Once you have designed the letters, use them over and over in any future pattern!
  • Using a Stitched Font:  They are used just like TrueType fonts, but instead of being converted, they are designed. The possibilities are endless!

Borders
This is a great new feature in version 7.  With PCStitch, you can now create your own custom borders, and use them in future patterns.  They are really neat because they can work with any sized design.  Basically, you design the 4 corners, and the 4 repeating sections.  When you apply a border, the corners are placed in your design, and the top, bottom, left, and right sections of the border are repeated. This makes the border surround your current design.  You are going to love using this new feature!

  • Creating a Border:  It is simply. You setup the height and width of the 4 sides, then you design each section.  It is really easy!   The height and width of the 4 sides does not have to be the same.  Creating borders is very flexible, yet really easy to setup.  Applying a border can make a huge difference in a design!

  • Easy to Use:   This is always our number one priority!
  • Import/Underlay:   Lets you put an image underneath the grid to copy
  • Complete Design Tools:   Cut, Copy, Paste, Rotate, Flip, Fill, Mirror Mode
  • Multiple Stitch Types:   Use full, 1/4, 3/4, and half stitches
  • Beads:   Add Mill-Hill beads to your patterns
