The Complete World War 2 Strategic Air War Flight
Simulation
The Mighty Eighth is the sequel to Microprose's Flying Fortress.
This game focuses on the men that fought in the US Army Air Force 8th Bomber
Command during WWII. You fly the B-17 through many historical missions from
bombing shipyards to airfields to factories. All of the historical missions have
been simulated with the utmost detail. Not only can you control the B-17 (as
each of the 10 crew members) but you can also fly the escort planes, as well as
the German Luftwaffe planes out to destroy the B-17s.
The Mighty Eighth's engine is one of the most detailed simulation engines to
date. The terrain and planes have been meticulously detailed to resemble the
real-life counterparts. From the machinegun ammo inside the B-17s to the holes
punched in the wings from flak, The Mighty Eighth will have you considering
buying war bonds to support the effort.
The ultimate flight crew simulation. As you become an expert at all ten B-17
crew positions allowing you to take off and land the massive bomber, shoot from
all turret positions, navigate across a realistically mapped Europe, send radio
messages, carry out bomb runs, release the bombs and watch them hit the target!
