Resident Evil Degeneration Premiere
October 1st, 2008 by acoleman
The highly anticipated CGI film Resident Evil Degeneration is scheduled to be released on video by the end of this year, but fans will have three premieres to be looking forward to until that time comes. The world premier (hosted by Capcom) will be taking place October 10th at the Tokyo Game Show. The film will also premiere at two events in North America; the New York Horror Film Festival November 13th, and then In Los Angeles Premiere hosted by Fangoria November 18th.
Degeneration is a continuation of Resident Evil 2, and the best aspect of the plot would be the reunion between two of the most popular characters in the Resident Evil franchise; Leon S. Kennedy, and Claire Redfield. After the Zombie outbreak caused by the Umbrella Corporation was squashed by the government in the form of a Nuclear bombing; the Umbrella stocks plummeted and the Corporation soon crashed. Seven years later the zombie threat is reborn in a rural airport in the United States; through a commercial airliner that unknowingly carries cargo infected with the zombie virus.
The reunion of Leon, and Claire is reason enough for fans to be reveling; and the fact that the film is Produced by Hiroyuki Kobayashi ( “Resident Evil 4″ and “Devil May Cry 4″), and Directed by Makoto Kamiya (Special effect direcor of Godzilla, Mothra) is not to shabby either. A two minute trailer was revealed at Comic Con and is now posted on the offical Resident Evil Degeniration site. I guess us fans of the franchise will just have to nibble on that until the premiere.
