Product Information

This self-paced, interactive CD-ROM combines the best of multimedia computer technology with award-winning educational television to bring you the best in introductory French language learning.  French To Go is developed by professional educators and multimedia learning experts. These professionals apply the combined experience of over a decade of accredited, interactive course production to bring you language learning that provides a diverse introduction to both the French language and to French culture.

Your instructor, Dr. Jane Riles, teaches the concepts of each lesson through lively video segments. Jane is an experienced and accomplished instructor who thoroughly explains the objectives of each lesson and reinforces instruction with mnemonics and examples. Her teaching style provides diverse learning situations where you'll be introduced to French language concepts and encouraged to practice 'real-life' French from the activities you choose. Jane is your personal tutor as you choose the learning path that best fits your needs.

Each lesson offers a variety of practice exercises, pronunciation practice and video dialogues to model and enhance language and culture learning.  French words and phrases appear as hypertext on the screen during each video to reinforce learning. You can click these items to hear the correct pronunciation and see the English translation.  Easy navigation allows the user to learn at a comfortable pace and freely explore any section of the program. The Table of Contents clearly lists the subjects of each lesson for ease in determining where to find information. Pop-Up help with audio is available for every screen and button. The Modeling Skits follow the adventures of the American entrepreneur, Beauregard, and his Parisian friend, the struggling actor Le Roq. Dialogues model the vocabulary and grammar of each lesson in contextual and entertaining videos.

French To Go includes a personal language lab, with all the tools needed to refine pronunciation and recognition - replacing awkward audio tapes with a user-friendly, intuitive multimedia approach to foreign language reinforcement. A record feature allows you to practice speaking out loud vocabulary and phrases. Responses are saved for playback compared to a French speaker.  Some of the speakers are audible and others are not.  All of the speakers work under Windows 98.  The English translation for the selection is displayed as the audio plays. A "speaking dictionary" provides further support for learning vocabulary and phrases. You can look up entries in either English or French, see the translation, and hear the correct pronunciation.

Do not waste your money on the products that are cheap . They are cheap for the reason , because they are not good. It will cost you more to repair your new computer than to buy 10 times more expensive product
