Additionally, the Intel RAID Controller RS25SB008 comes with a maintenance-free backup unit using NAND flash memory and a super-capacitor to help protect data stored in the controller cache. This technology helps eliminate the hardware maintenance associated with lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, lowers the total cost of ownership over the life of the adapter, and offers more environmentally friendly cache protection.
