In Conspiracies, fears for the future overflow as mid-21st century society exists beneath the looming threat of a devastated natural environment, overpopulation, unemployment, rampant crime, and widespread neurological affliction. Earth is now a single federation of city-states, each of which has its own local government, subject to the Higher Federal Government - but political lobbies, big corporations, and organized crime also impose their own order, frequently operating outside the bounds of the law and creating their own dark reality.
Enter Nick Delios, a former top student at the University of Thessaloniki who abandoned his academic career after a betrayal and a broken engagement. After a period of living on the edge, gambling and drinking, Nick now earns a living as a detective specializing in industrial espionage cases using his medical studies and new underworld acquaintances.
