Green Day Rock Band puts players on the stage and in the shoes of the multi-platinum selling and Grammy Award-winning band that jump-started the punk-pop revial and has continued to pave the way for American rock music into the 21st century.  Taking on the likenesses of Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool, players progress through the story and history of Green Day, gaining access into the band's media vault, where they can unlock more than 100 collectible images, and more than 40 minutes of rare unreleased video from interviews, outtakes, and performances.

• 47 Amazing Songs - The tracklist includes a collection of greatest hits and fan favorites, including two of the band's most iconic albums: Dookie and American Idiot.  A third album, 21st Century Breakdown, can be played in its entirely when paired with six tracks already available as downloadable content.
• Distinct Venues - Features three separate venues, each representing a different iconic period in Green Day's remarkable career including, The Warehouse, Milton Keynes, and The Fox Theater, Oakland.
• Enhanced Gameplay - Full motion-capture was used to create an authentic Green Day live performance in authentic venues as well as 3-part vocal harmonies for those songs featuring multiple singers.
• Unlockable Prizes - As players progress through the game they will gain access into Green Day's media vault, where they can unlock collectible images, and rare and unreleased video footage of the band.
• Import and Export - All 47 songs on the disc are fully exportable, giving players the opportunity to play all Green Day: Rock Band songs in Rock Band, Rock Band 2, and Rock Band 3.
• Full Compatibility - Green Day: Rock Band software is compatible with all Rock Band controllers, most Guitar Hero  and authorized third party instrument controllers, and microphones (not included)
