JC - Jewel Case
The Jewel Case is a plastic outer shell which holds one or more CDs. Often a liner is put inside of the jewel case that holds the CD(s) in place for protection. The jewel case may contain any of the following items: artwork depicting the retail box front cover, CD title page, installation and program instructions, or a mini manual. The product may also come in retail cardboard packaging.

The jewel case is typically what you would also get inside of a software retail box. Many titles come published only in a jewel case by the publisher. Examples of such titles include: Hasbro, Topics Entertainment, Jumpstart, and scores of others.

Please Note: Many software titles, whether they are sold in a retail box or jewel case, may not contain a printed manual or product instructions. Many of the publishers include the product manual and/or product instructions on the CD.

EB - Everything but the Box
As the name suggests, Everything but the Box, also known as Direct Mail Packaging, includes all of the contents of a Retail Box title except for the box itself. Be assured, if it was in the box, you'll find it in the EB packaging. In addition to the CD(s), the EB contents may include a manual, registration card, quick reference card, installation guides and even advertising materials. However, it is very important to note that not all Retail Boxes come with many of these elements to begin with.

A Retail Box serves two purposes:

(1) Helps the Retailer to display the software in an attractive manner
(2) Prevents shop theft since a jewel case is easier to conceal than a box

With this in mind as an Internet Company, EB products are far more economical due to the savings vs. the cost to manufacture the retail box. Contains all of the same contents as the retail box but a greater savings to the customer.

BX - Retail Box
A Retail Box is the same product you would find on a store shelf. All manufacturers do not package their software in the same type of product box. The box sizes vary to include the larger box, mini box, plastic DVD case, and the mini DVD size box.

Please Note: Even though the software is packaged in a retail box this does not mean that the box contains a software manual. Many publishers and/or manufacturers include product instructions and/or manuals directly on the CD.

Rtl - Retail Packaging
The product comes in Retail Packaging. Retail Packaging includes, but is not limited to, Blister Pack, Special Manufacture Packaging or Large Flat Package.
